The break-up

I broke up with my nanny last night.  It was the worst break-up I’ve ever been through.  Our relationship just wasn’t working out (my lawyer husband prevents me from writing all the juicy details on the blogosphere).  After much thought and deliberation, I just felt that it was time to make a change. I still like her, but I wasn’t IN LOVE with her.  It’s complicated, you know?  We weren’t on the same page and I didn’t see a future for us together.  I tried hard not to cry as I told her, but I couldn’t help it.  She took the news well, like a real champ, I would say, considering I didn’t give her much notice.  She said she saw it coming. How could she not? I had grown distant and withdrawn the past few weeks, knowing what I was about to do. 

I hope we can still be friends, though, as I do like her as a person.  We just weren’t meant to be together.
