I love, love, love this post. I gave birth to a son 11 weeks ago and if I hear one more time to nap when your baby naps
(as if it's that simple) I'm going to go craaaaaaazy!! I love the anti nap tips. I actually kind of really live that
way!! I just went back to work and found you via themomblogs.com. Great site!!

I always, always, always feel too guilty to nap. Always. But I hear it's good for you. Maybe I should start.

I am pro-naps, all the way. I recognize they aren't for everybody (clearly), but they are so for me. I refer to myself (and my daughter) as a "championship napper." I can nap pretty much anywhere, anytime--if I want to. She also naps quite well, because it's in her genes.

So sometimes in the evenings, after a long day of work when my daughter happens to be napping, I conk out on the couch for an hour with my coziest blanket. On weekends? Naps are mandatory. I enjoy them like nothing else.

Long live naps!

Susan

Amy, nothing gets in the way of Lost. I'm on central time, so that helps :) I can make some exceptions to my strategy. Charlene, we'll always be friends!

I agree that the advice "nap when the baby naps" is ridiculous. Most days it came down to eating my first meal of the day (at 3pm!) or napping. Eating wins everytime, hands down.

Woo-hoo for a 9:30 bedtime! And good luck with that, if I can be in bed by 10:15 I consider it a minor miracle. I hope you make it through Lost tonight. I am in the process of investigating a DVR:)

You don't like naps? What in the world is wrong with you? Naps are the best part of the day! ;)

Who has time for a nap? Working full time, running a home business, taking care of two kids, a house, a husband, a dog...the list goes on. ALthough I did see this morning on the Today show that "sleep is the new sex." Could be true? When they find a way for a day to be longer than 24 hours, maybe then all moms will be able to squeeze in a nap. :)

I do nap sometimes. But I dont make it a habit. I go to
work @ 5am and if I dont have to work the next day I will
nap. But its more so Ill be produtive afterwards.
Its only an hour of sleep but I do feel that I get
more done then if I just come home and sit. If I have
to work the next day I will try to keep myself busy
till kids come home but then Im in bed @7 or 8 and feel
more quilty because Im asleep already. It never a win/win
situation. I think Everyone is different and you really
have to do as you need to do.
