Ok, I usually don’t give into the urge to blog about television shows, but I am a huge fan of LOST and I really need to rant about last night’s terrific episode. Especially since it was so mommy-focused.
My ramblings:
- I can’t understand a word Charlie says.
- How is it possible that Claire and Jack have the same dad? And how are they going to find out since Claire didn’t ask her dad his name?
- How does Claire wear mascara? And where is she getting eye makeup remover? Her lashes were as dark as a Cover Girl model. Seriously.
- Danielle (Rousseau) is NOT 60 – or at least that’s what I heard her say, I think.
- How bad would it suck to have to change Aaron’s diapers on the island? I mean what are they using at this point for him? Gross.
- I have to say, the mother/ daughter/ fight/ car accident has more meaning now that I’m a mom. What can I say? I’m a sucker.

I love your recap of last night’s episode. I would just like to expand on the Rousseau comments…she really moved me when she pointed out to Kate that her daughter won’t remember her. I just couldn’t imagine how awful that would be. But what really puzzled me was that she didn’t want to know, at least, what her daughter looks like and what her demeanour is. I suppose that might ruin the image and idea she has in her mind – but really – what mother wouldn’t obsess over every detail they could find out? That part, I didn’t get.
Good point, Mon. She probably doesn’t want to see Ben (I’m assuming her ex?) either.
Danielle said 16 (not 60) – the age of her daughter, the length of time since her daughter was stolen from her.
Ben is not her “ex” – he is part of the gang/cult of “others/hostiles” who stole/kidnapped Danielle’s daughter, and like many kidnappers of children has decided to lie and pass the child off as his own. If he was her “ex” she’d likely have recognized him when she caught him in one of her traps last season.
Her lover’s name was Robert.
I totally get why she doesn’t want to ask the questions about Alex, she’s afraid of what the answers are, I certainly would be if my child had been kidnapped and brought up by a cult of lying manipulating weirdo’s. And she knows that Alex has no memory of her, and probably doesn’t even know of her existence.
The real question is: Does Claire look better as a Goth or a cornfed blonde?
And finally, am I the only one that would pick Jack over Sawyer?
