A great new site launched earlier in beta this month called, Work It, Mom! Work It, Mom! is like Maya’s Mom but geared just towards working moms (me likey). The mission of Work It, Mom! is to “connect, empower and inspire professional moms to thrive in every aspect of their careers, family and personal lives!” I personally love to connect with other working moms and chat about all the things we have in common. I also love to feel empowered, so I guess that’s why I agreed to participate in one of their working mom “interviews,” although, I’m a little embarassed re-reading online my quip about wanting a live-in manicurist. I’m really not that shallow. Well, maybe a smidge. (Truth be told, my nails look damn nice right now thanks to a fresh mani and today’s color- Essie Wicked.)
Anyway, go check out Work It, Mom! Join it if you have a spare moment. And then you can tell me which nail polish color you’re wearing.

Sara, thanks for the mention and for a great interview – and it is not a shallow bit, I am dreaming of this myself now (being that my last manicure was… hm, hm, 4 months ago).
I love it! How cool. I did PR/internal communications for a local private university for several years.
I will definitely check out that site.
And I’m with you on enjoying work. I am working four days a week now. Even if I didn’t have to work I think I would “have” to or I would get bored!
hot pink on the toes. fingernails bare;)
So great! The site has so much good stuff! And it was cool to see you on the blog! Way to go!
http://www.onrampsforum.com is another great website for working moms! They are even putting together conferences to
provide a forum for working moms!
The forum was designed to bring intelligent women together to discuss the issues facing us all – because women and the marketplace both benefit when talented, well-educated mothers can contribute both at home and at work. Through networking with fellow women, discussions with companies leading the way in solutions for working mothers, and panels and sessions on some of the most common questions working mother face, Detours and OnRamps aims to provide a forum for women to meet and look at their own choices. With career resources and expert advice offered through panel discussions, small-group sessions, and networking opportunities, the hope is that mothers will leave feeling more in control of their choices and options – and reassured that as intelligent, educated women, their contributions still matter.
Great Website and very funny!
