Read it yourself: Power struggle

powerbroker.jpgThink the Donald is the only one who hasn’t changed a diaper? Guess again.

A cutesy-yet-disturbing snippet of life as a power broker could give Mr. Trump a run for his money.  James S. Tisch, president and CEO of the Loews Corporation also admitted he wasn’t really around for the poop when his kids were little. “I was not a soccer daddy…  so it was really the traditional model that we followed,” he said.  Poor Mrs. Tisch. (Well, she probably had a nanny to deal with the poop so I won’t feel too bad for her.)

All the while that these executives rose to the top, the women polled in this study felt that the only place they really had the power to make decisions was in the home.  Some get the pomp and some get the poop.  I always say that I’m middle management at work, but CEO at home.  I’m just being cheeky, though.

Unfortunately, it’s just not that funny when the stereotypes get reinforced for real.

If you’d ask my husband he would tell you that it isn’t
his favorite thing in the world to change diapers and I know he
would rather be working outside the home than staying home with
the kids. But, I also know that he is grateful to have an
excellent relationship with our toddler sons. Those guys are like
3 peas in a pod.
