No, I’m not abandoning my blog, just taking a little vacation next week. It may seem like I go on vacation a lot, but really, I haven’t gone anywhere exciting since March. But now it’s almost July, which means it’s time for my yearly family get-together in my hometown state. A lake and hammock are calling me. And trashy mags and the new Diana book. And, oh yeah, hanging out with my family. Isn’t that what summer vacations are all about?
This means however, I’ll also be taking a bit of a break from blogging. So in the meantime, a few things you can do while I’m gone:
- Read my latest online column about how the internet is my “frenemy”
- Meet some of my talented blogging neighbors (bleighbors?) on our newly famous Chicago Moms Blog. (Ok, so we were just in the Tribune, no biggie.)
- Shop the sale at one of my favorite stores: Banana Republic
- Buy a product I reviewed at my review blog. (No, I don’t profit from this, but like I said, it’ll give you something to do.)
- Give me a logical explanation as to why on earth the Spice Girls are reuniting??

It’s the summer blog blahs, I think. Everyone is either taking some time off or complaining they have nothing to write about. I was lucky to even get a single post up this week.
