I can agree to a certain extent regarding medical endorsement. However, I am somewhat of a whore when it comes to free samples. I was also browbeaten by the nurses in the hospital over the fact that I bottle fed my first child so I am a bit oversensitive about the bottle vs breast argument. I loved my free sample bag that I left the hospital with, I still remember the little Peter Rabbit pictures on it(this was before the ban-I am from MA). I don't think having the samples in one's possession is going to influence a person so much that they will abandon breast feeding. The thing that most aggravates me is this just adds fuel to a potential mommy war (breast vs bottle debate), and personally I am growing a bit weary of it.

The article about Japan was interesting. I guess we have come a long way.

Can you imagine if your male boss expected you to get his tea?

Regarding the formula ban, I think it's good policy. I get the libertarian argument. I just think that the hospital freebies connote medical endorsement, and that's the wrong message to send.
