Our office does a lunch instead of a big night time party. I actually like ti better because there’s no alcohol (I am an old lady I know) and it happens during work hours so I don’t cut in to time with the boys.

At this *lovely* little company, we’ll be getting a non-paid company shutdown as our holiday party. To appear nice, our VP had his admin order bagels for every Friday in December. Can I get a woop-woop???

And for the record, Goldfish are the perfect appetizer.

Oh how I miss the holiday lunch with the team when the boss keeps making you drink another glass of wine and you have to whole yourself up in your office the rest of the day pretending you’re making pitch calls or some in-depth research online because you’re totally ready for a nap and can’t possibly concentrate on that press release you’re supposed to be writing. And then you sober up just in time to go home. Ah, those were the days. That and walking into the hairspray cloud in the ladies room as the gals get ready for a variety of after-work fetes.

Man are you guys a bunch of scrooges or what! Ha! I, personally, enjoy the decorations…tacky, pretty…you name it! Okay, not as much the tacky ones, but it was at least an effort at holiday decorating. We have not one light up outside our home! As far as the office party, first off, I love that you took photos of everything you saw. I can just see you taking a picture of some lady’s flat iron and her looking at you in such a strange way. Second, office parties in the middle of the day have always been a bad idea. Don’t know who came up with that one. Third, who ever said snack traps are not for adults?

I think Aon looks better than Prudential Plaza, with the strands
of gold lights hanging down and the giant wreath. Every year when
that wreath surfaces, I feel a little bit sick.

Ya well, we don’t do holiday parties anymore – eliminated them during the downturn and saved
so much money they never looked back.

I was fortuntate enough to avoid the potluck I’ve been subjected to the last few years (what a
whiner I am). Today we went to City Beach – it’s a “beach” inside a warehouse, with pool and
fusbol and extreme pingpong, at least they way these serious engineers played.
Yesterday it was at least a nice lunch.

Why, why, why do we have parties in the middle of the day and then go back to work?
