Hi there. I'm the Childproofer's daughter. Just came across this site while searching around and saw my father left a message! I was inspired to do the same. I just hit my 30's and am settling down to start a family myself soon. I really like your site and look forward to reading your blog. I'm striving towards building a successful creative business from home, and be a SAHM at the same time. As overwhelming as it seems, I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for the inspiration! Can't wait to read more. :)

Sara -- hold your head high! And enjoy it. So many of us have considered it, or wanted to do it and haven't been able to . . . and, just think, when you're ready to come back, or decide to come back (you know, when the kids go to college) you will have rich experiences and memories to bring with you. I wish you the best -- keep on blogging!

Wow--good for you for listening to your heart and making such a big and brave decision. I am more an WAH-part-time-SAHM than a full-time-SAHM these days, but still look back on my fully-SAHM days with nostalgia. It was a great and worthy time in my and my kids' lives...and I have no regrets. I believe that you won't, either. Remember, you can always change things up again if something isn't working for you.

Congratulations! I'm a little behind in my blog reading. I have to echo the others and say that it's about what's best for you and your family. Also, life is fluid and just because you decide to something now, doesn't mean that you have to do it 6 months from now.

BIG NEWS! I kinda thought you might go that way. It's the right thing for you and your fam right now. That's what all of us moms (SAHM or WOHM) should aim for. Glad you're keeping up the blog and I'm sure you'll have lots of new, interesting fodder.

When I heard you had big news I immediately thoguth- Baby nubmer two is on the way. This is great new too, though. Good for you!

I remember when I thought I'd never give up the consulting practice I had built--that was before I actually had kids, of course. Everythign shifts after that.

I look forward to reading about your new adventures.

GHD took the words right out of my mouth.

"Oh, I’m so excited for you! It’s a difficult decision to have to make and somewhat of an adjustment, but I hope you find your grove in SAHMommyhod. I had my reservations with it at first, but things couldn’t be better a year later."

To me being a SAHM is both challenging and exhilarating. Enjoy it and make the most of it. It's by far been the best time of my life!
