I have to say that I really like the Wiggles. Sure they are dorky and their show is a seriously low-budget production, but their music is catchy and my daughter loves it. I just like that they are real people singing and not cartoon voices. We will have to look into the musicians the others suggested. We are also fans of Elmo of course. Right now Elmo's Potty Time is the current favorite. My daughter will even tell you that Baby Bear goes "woo woo" and not "poo poo." Nice, huh? I knew I was a mom of a toddler when my daughter insisted on lifting her shirt for the people behind us in line at the library and showing them her belly button. Can we NOT save that for HOME? Hmpf.

Umm..we have a bright red Wiggles Guitar that plays little tid-bits of all those catchy songs! The batteries went dead about a year ago and the stores mysteriously (wink, wink) stopped selling that kind of battery..huh? What a shame.. My husband was really, really sad.

I have been really lucky. My youngest is not interested in mose cartoons, including the Wiggles. Now he is obsessed (psychotic)about Thomas the Train, but that I can deal with.

I refused to go the Wiggles way and actually escaped it with my 2 boys. Like you guys, we also did not escape the calling of those faux stone plastic houses. Sesame Street live we've never seen as well. Have fun with Elmo!

BTW - I finally bought a .com for my blog. SugarMyBlog.com kind of like Pimp My Car don't you think? lol

I got a cheap plastic jungle off of Craig's list when D was tot. Boy was I glad that I only paid $25 for it - the kid rarely played on it and more often tried to crawl up the slide than go down. It sat in our backyard for 18 months and I can count on both hands the amount of times he acknowledged his presence. Although ours wasn'tr as fancy as yours. The only plus was that I sold it for more than I originally paid.

I think he really wanted a play house. I'd take him to ToyRUs all the timke to just let hium play in the $00 houses. Who knew that plastic with cheap stickers could cost so much?

Congratualtions on reaching yet another rite of passage. Early parenthood is full of them - whether maddening or joyful (or a little of both) you MUST stop to recognize them!

My most recent rite of passage: I can now go for a walk with my (older two) kids riding bikes along side me! Never thought I'd see the day...

Yes- such a rite of passage. You might find that your nice new playset is a big hit with the neighbor kids while YOUR child is in the corner of the yard picking big clumps of grass and throwing them up in the air. Yay.
