Bean meaning to email you -- Congrats!!! The 2 boys were both surprises, but with the 3rd child I chose to know because I had to do amnio due to my mature age, and since that is a much more of an accurate test, we decided to know.

Sharing some stupid comments I got when I was pregnant on my 3rd baby was:

"So, you must be hoping for a girl?"

"I hope you finally feel how it is to have a girl"

"What are you going to do if you have a 3rd boy?"

D'oh! I honestly still get upset when I think about it.

But the worst of all was when I just delivered my second boy and I was speaking to a used-to-be girlfriend of mine who swears up and down that girls are so much better than boys.

She sighed deeply with a I-feel-sorry-for-you "oh" reaction. Needless to say, we aren't friends anymore...Sad thing too though is she had her 2nd child and hoped for another girl, but had a boy. Heard she was disappointed...sad

That whole "Oh, I hope it's a girl!" chorus is exactly why I am finding out this time around (and the last two times around...) People around me have been so convinced it's a girl with each of my last three pregnancies, that I didn't want to find myself buying into the hype for 40 weeks and then being disappointed when the baby was there and, uh, had a penis. I love being a mom to boys and if I end up with boy #5 this time around it would be fabulous--but there is a little part of me that's always wanted a girl and I like to just eliminate that possibility as soon as I can :) I totally admire people who can keep it a surprise and actually ENJOY the surprise, though!

When we were expecting our twin girls, the first ultrasound tech said, "One is a girl and I think the other one is to0." After that all the techs said the same thing, "One is a girl. What did they tell you about twin B last time?" None of the techs would commit to the second twin's sex. Even if you woke up one day and decided to find out, sometimes the information is wrong. Enjoy the journey. Whether you havea girl or a boy, there's a beautiful baby at the end.

That happened to me the entire time I was pregnant with Brady. Everyone kept saying y wanted me to have a girl. After I had him someone actually had the nerve to ask if I was going to have another since I didn't get the girl.

I couldn't believe it.

Congratulations! I know for sure what you are having - JK :) My pregnancies seemed different to me,
and I had two boys. Craving for fruit and sugar and breaking out - but then that happens to me whether
or not I'm pregnant. I was like you - there are plusses either way. Although one of the reasons I didn't
find out was I was worried I'd go crazy buying "girl" baby things when really, they don't need
anything different :)

And my mother swears that if you break out btwn 12-15 weeks that you are having a boy.

Something about the surge of testerone causes break outs.

Congratulations!! I'm so sorry I haven't dropped by until now.

I only had two of those symptoms with one of my pregnancies (don't remember any of the heart rates) - craving for fruit and major breakouts - and that was with Tacy. So I'd have to go with girl.

Fascinating, SMM. Clearly I need to remind you that the FIRST WORDS out of your mouth when I told you that my second was going to be another girl, you responded with "So are you going to keep trying until you have a boy?"

Mothers of only girls find themselves being faced with constant bombardment of how they should continue to go at it until their family name can be carried on in the name of a son.

I think you're having a girl.....
