I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself, and don’t want to encourage it for my children. I have a hard enough time going to the zoo! Now, Cirque Du Soleil I have no problem with!!

No animal circuses for me and my kids, no way. I took Z to Cirque Shangai and we both loved it.
Besides, my parents took me to a traditional circus as a kid and I cried for the animals.
Circuses freak me out. Nope, no circuses for us. I went to one as a kid and didn’t like it. If my kids go then someone else will be taking them.
Put that guilt to rest, SMM! I just took my 2-year old son to the circus… For the parts when he wasn’t freaked out, crumpled in my lap, and sobbing, we were outside at the concession stand eating over-priced popcorn… Disaster!
This is an excellent question. I, luckily, was never faced with it. For one reason or another all three of my children were too scared by the clowns to ask to go to one.
