There are so many ways I could tell you all about what’s happened in the past few weeks, but it’s easier for me at this point to say it, get it over with, and move on.
I lost the baby two weeks ago in my fifth month.
That’s all I can or want to say about the whole, horrible experience.
Really, it is.
Writing about it will only dredge up painful memories and right now what I need to do is move forward and not look back. Thanks for understanding.
In fact, in an effort to spruce up my lacksidasical blogging efforts and create a diversion for myself I’m going to change the focus of my blog a smidge.
Amidst our country’s worst recession, my husband and I feel we have no choice but to alter our life and cutback and conserve where we can. Now if you know me at all, you may laugh at the notion, but even my spendthrift self needs to learn how to save money.
I’m going to join the frugalista movement and save and budget like no self-respecting spoiled mom who drives a Lexus has ever done before.
Really, I am.
I even gave up my favorite Dermalogica face wash last week for an Aveeno one. It wasn’t so bad.
Ebay, craigslist, coupon clipping here I come. Hope I can entertain you all until I get back on that pregnancy bandwagon or fall off the conservation one.

I haven’t posted in forever, but I have a lot to talk about. Just not tonight. I’m signing up for the slow blogging movement which should take into account hackers getting into my WordPress site and forcing me to upgrade even though I nearly had a panic attack. More soon. I promise.
on your birthday you …
- Have two fattening breakfasts, because you have two good excuses (if you care to know – pancakes in bed and eggs over medium + bagel and cream cheese at a restaurant)
- Spend the better part of your afternoon attending a school open house
- Can’t wait for your kid to wake up from his afternoon nap so you can play with his ice cream cone set (ice cream is fake, unfortunately)
- Would rather order in than take up your parents’ offer to go to any decent restaurant in Chicago
- Let your kid blow out your candles AND get the first bite of your chocolate cake
- Enjoy the bedtime routine because your son keeps serenading you with “Happy Birfday”
- Allow your husband to watch Sunday Night Football because he has a bad cold
- Ignore all phone calls of loving friends because your too tired to make small talk (not that I have anything that exciting to discuss anyway)
- Sit on the computer until 10:30 at night searching for ways to economically buy maternity clothes for the next 4 months
Happy Birthday to me.
