On diamonds

Dear fellow lululemon shopper,

Yes, I was trying on the Shape Jacket next to you today.

Yes, I asked you for your opinion on color and fit.

But no, no, I didn’t think I needed it in more than one color.  I told you we were in a recession, remember?

Therefore, I really didn’t appreciate your subsequent comment about my earrings.

Because, just because I happen to have a nice pair of diamond studs (which, ahem I inherited from my grandmother back in 2002), doesn’t mean I can freely drop $100 on a sweatshirt.

Signed,

This recession(ista) can be a real bitch

Yes, they’re real and they’re fabulous.

p.s. if you want great advice on what’s in style for a steal check out this new blog. Love it!

Heh heh. It’s funny the message jewelry can send, right? My diamond earrings, a rather extravagant gift one year from my husband, are my power pair. I truly do understand that I’m sending a message when I’m wearing them.
That lady beside you looked at you for clues, and your earrings gave her a message!
But yes, just because one could afford those earrings two years ago… does not mean one can necessarily afford them this year!
Incidentally, my sis bought me some lulumon pants for Xmas this year in medium… can’t wait to pop this baby out of my tummy and get back into shape and wear them! Wonder if my butt will ever be that small again.

Too funny! I have some beautiful pearls that I put on when I want to send a message. If I walk down the stairs in a black suit and my pearls, my husband knows someone is going to have a long meeting with me.
