I owe a lot to another Sarah. First, she gave me some great insight in how she’s living frugal life. Check out her story and others in my newest Chicago Parent article. (Yay! A little freelance work in a sucky economy!)
But more importantly, Sarah gave me the brilliant idea to my other money making venture: Selling off my old, yet still terribly stylish clothes, on eBay. I mean, the clothes are just sitting in my overstuffed closet gathering dust. Wouldn’t they look better on you?
So, herewith is the beginning of my weekly-ish eBay auctions. We’ll see how much stuff I can clean out and how much I can clean up in the world’s largest online auction space. Ah, I love the internets.
For sale this week: my barely-worn lululemon Still pants in royal blue. They’re fabulously comfy, but just don’t fit me right anymore.

This is awesome. I have BOXES of stuff I need to take pics of and list already but I just haven’t made the time. You are starting to motivate me! Oh, and that other Sarah is quite awesome. Yes. You coming to BlogHer? Pretty sure she’s shacking up with me!

Hey, I’m glad I could help! I still need to get on this boat. I’ve always just given my oldies to the Salvation Army, but then again, I’m a frugalista now. A frugalista with a very long to-do list. Time to dust-off my ebay account!
Oh I’m not sure about BlogHer… we’ll see how it all shakes out. Would be fun though!
I buy stuff from ebay all the time. Once you know your favorite designers and your size, it’s a great place to bargain shop. An amazing number of people buy clothes they never (or barely) wear.
Hi there — Still a faithful follower of the blog and wish we’d overlapped more at Edelman.
Anyway, wanted to make sure you saw this article in today’s WSJ:

Have you seen the new consignment store on Roscoe? It’s inside of that boutique Julian Gifts and is called Celia’s Closet. The owner lives on Hoyne. Anyway, she would take all of your clothes for sure, and she splits the costs 50/50. Way easier than eBay! I’m headed over there this weekend with my Kate Spade’s and some old evening gowns that look terrible on me now. (she even takes shoes)
