I love how the blog world works. What started with a venty, ranty, whatever post I wrote about not putting effort into my blog and not caring ended with a stellar comment from one of my blog BFFs, Alma. This ended up in our collective BlogHer non-anxiety, but realizing that since no one will know us from the banquet chairs in the conference room that it might be fun to poke a little fun at ourselves while mixing amidst the uber-bloggers who I will likely never talk to, but gawk at from afar. And, no, I’m not linking. D-listers don’t really link. (Too lazy).
And now, we present, the ultimate in blog un-branding, un-sponsorshipped, and un-twitterable.
The Mom Blogger D-List.
Yep, it’s a place where all of us who like to blog, but don’t get too broken up about it, can revel in our lowly status. And wear buttons. Blog buttons (code below) and real life buttons. I’m trying to get them in time for the big weekend. So that we can all find each other and laugh about our non-readership.
The only requirement of the D-List is that even if you overachieved in everything else in your life, when it comes to reaching the blog stratosphere you’re ok with having a zero reach on twitter and being ranked 58,467 on technorati.
So put the button on your blog if you want to shout your under-achieving self from the blog rooftops (and be on our blogroll) and email me at selfmademom(at)sbcglobal(dot)net if you want a wearable for BlogHer. For those not attending, we’re planning on doing some giveaways of conference swag because it’s the only place we can be assured to actually get something from a sponsor and know you’re probably in the same boat too.
And don’t laugh at the design of our un-branded special place. A D-lister only has so much time to devote to another blog.
I present the button code:

Heck yeah! A place I really belong. I will wear the badge with pride (or, rather my blog will, lol)
Well, I wont’ be at blogher, but I definitely belong in this club! I will post the badge on my blog, for all 5 readers a day to see! LOL! I’m also linking this over at themotherhood.com because it’s that awesome! =)
LOVE IT! Won’t be making it to blogher (as a true D-lister, I couldn’t justify it), but my blog will wear a little bling-bling in support.
I’m a D-lister, too! I am not attending (blog is too young; also, I don’t have a sponsor, in true D-list fashion), but I’ll add the code later today.
D-list bloggers are like the kids in black at the back table of the lunchroom, making fun of all the jocks & cheerleaders. Yeah.
Well, Shannon, we may sit in the back of the lunchroom but I think the only one I’m making fun of is myself
and the occasional celebrity. Thanks for commenting!
We’re not burnouts. We’re severe underachievers.
D-listers don’t really link. (Too lazy).
Perfection, in a totally Grade D kinda way.
I am posting this badge to my blog tomorrow. I used to have issues but realize that the blog is for me not others. If that makes me D list then so be it.
I am so with you – and I so want a button IRL. Now I hope I can figure out how to add it to my blog!!!
I’m joining! I just so D-list that it’s gonna take me WEEKS to email you and put the badge up on my site.
If my lowly tech skills allow, I’ll add the button to my blog. I love life on the D-list. No pressure!
Love it. And totally want to meet you on Friday.
I would love to meet you but am so D-list, I’m not going! Too much money for this D-lister. Have fun and way to represent!
I Love it! My blog is pretty young, but has almost no readership even among my family. (thanks Mom!) I am going to make better half put the button on later. I’m so lame I can’t even find the right spot to input the code.
